By admin at Fri, 2006-02-17 20:42 Alpha LambdaDelta, a national honor society at Lenoir-Rhyne College, recently participated in a children's book drive to replace school librarybooks that were destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. Members ofthe organization collected 250 children's books, which were donated throughthe group's national organization. Members also plan to build birdhouses in afund-raising effort to benefit Habitat for Humanity. PresidentKimberly Phelps, a junior from Tampa, Fla.; and vice president Kristen Adelman,a junior from Durham, N.C.; attended a national conference for Alpha LambdaDelta leaders. The honorsociety is open to students from all majors. Students are invited to join aftertheir freshman year if they have a grade point average of 3.6 or higher.
