"When a family purchased her as a pet they found out really quick that as a pet she wasn't working out so we took her in, that's when the training began." Eventually Nicole trained mystic to be a part of the zoo's education program and now takes walks every morning. Getting mystic to go on walks is not as easy as you think. "I would say at least a good six months before she trusted me then I wanted her to be able to come out and be able to be used in educational purposes, so it took me about two years to get a collar and a leash on her." "It sounds like a monkey and a cross between a dog. She gets really excited and her tail wags when she sees the collar and leash in my hands." There are many reasons why the artic fox makes a bad pet. "She can dig through ice if the soil is frozen, she can still dig a very nice hole, that's your house, your carpet, and your couch, are not safe." This is cache, read story here |
